South Downs National Park Authority have issued a Call for Sites as part of their Local Plan review and are looking for sites for the following uses:

  • Housing, including new homes, affordable housing, specialised care, self and custom-build homes
  • Economic development, including offices, manufacturing and warehousing
  • Renewable energy
  • Gypsy & Traveller, and travelling showpeople sites
  • Biodiversity net gain and nutrient offsetting sites.

The Call for Sites marks the beginning of their Local Plan review and presents a key opportunity for those with suitable sites in the area to lay the foundations for future development. The sites that are deemed suitable by the Authority will be allocated in the Local Plan, securing planning permission for long-term development goals.

Local people are also being asked to identify Local Green Spaces that they wish to protect from future development. Now is the time to have your say and influence the Local Plan which in turn, will shape the local area over the coming years.

The Call ends on the 28th September so there is limited time to build a case and present your sites to the Local Planning Authority. We work on a case-by-case basis and have excellent knowledge of the South Downs National Park area.  If you wish to discuss opportunities for site promotions, please contact our Hampshire office for advice on the best way forward for you.
