Now is a fantastic time to act if you have development interests in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. There are strategic opportunities to promote your sites and influence the Local Plan as well as advancing your current proposals following the Housing Delivery Test results.
In 2019, Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole became unitary authority BCP and the new Council are in the early stages of preparation for their combined Local Plan.
Until the BCP Local Plan is adopted, the housing supply is calculated separately for each area with all three below the mandatory 5-year level. In addition, the recent Housing Delivery Test indicates that all three Local Planning Authorities are failing to deliver enough housing and are now facing various consequences. The penalties add considerable pressure to produce new homes, giving applicants the advantage. Find out more about what the consequences mean here.
